Celano, Badenhorst, Baggiani feat. Wolfert Brederode

Guillermo Celano and Marcos Baggiani met in 2001 in Amsterdam. Immersed in the eclectic jazz/impro scene of the city, they have led several groups together. With Joachim Badenhorst they have been playing since 2013. They found themselves connecting deeply in their love of beauty, groove, noise, abstraction, virtuosity and simplicity. In 2018 the trio released their first album Lili & Marleen through Clean Feed Records, to critical acclaim in the Netherlands and abroad. By then, the trio had already started to invite special guests.

In Tilburg’s jazz club Paradox in 2019 Wolfert Brederode joined the gang for the first time, and magic happened. Fast forward through the pandemic, and we can celebrate an amazing new album called Carnet Imaginaire (Challenge Records, 2022). Its music has been composed and developed over the past two years. Above all, it reflects a desire for a deeply human communication. Says Guillermo Celano: “We’ve been turned inside out and outside in. Music is the great love of our lives and has helped us once more to go through these difficult times.”
