Voice, alto sax, trumpet and double bass: an orchestration which offers various possibilities for sound and texture. Add to that the fact that Alistair Payne, Fuensanta Méndez and José Soares are friends who shared several larger projects, and you have the ingredients for a unique musical recipe. Expect to hear improvised passages that resemble that of a modern chamber group, original songs that pull from a mixture of folk music, and soundscapes that imitate nature and our surroundings.
“We are inspired by the process,” says Alistair. “We are in the fortunate position that we are capable of composing together, and can bounce off each other’s ideas and influences to form an entirely unique sound. Our influences span multiple musical corners. Arvo Pärt, Morton Feldman, Björk, Radiohead, Chico Buarque, Fausto, Maurice Ravel would be the tip of the iceberg.”
