Alessandro Fongaro’s Pietre
Thursday, April 11, 2024 - MESSE BREMEN – Hall 7.2
Pietre (meaning stones in Italian) is the latest project from bassist-composer Alessandro Fongaro. It is, says Fongaro, “a kind of personal diary in which I collected everything I experienced during that time.” Joining Fongaro are Sun-Mi Hong (drums) and Jesse Schilderink and Nicolò Ricci (saxes). “First time (a)live,” the band’s debut album, was released in 2022 and was very well received by public and press alike. This has led to a busy diary of major venues and festivals: North Sea Jazz Festival, BIMHUIS, De Doelen and Stadtgarten Köln as part of the Nica Exchange programme. “A special sense of urgency” (Jazzism) “You don’t notice the absence of piano or guitar at all” (WDR).
Nicolò Ricci – tenor saxophone
Jesse Schilderink – tenor and baritone saxophones
Sun-Mi Hong – drums
Alessandro Fongaro – double bass
