NAUSYQA

Amsterdam-based NAUSYQA is on a journey – and you are invited to come along!
The Conservatorium van Amsterdam brought together these six musicians from Portugal, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands who not only became good friends but who realised they shared the desire to have a musical space where they could explore and create in their own way.
Ask them what kind of music moves them, and they mention film soundtracks (yes, Hayao Miyazaki’s ‘Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind’ is on the list), electronic music (drum & bass grooves, for example), contemporary jazz artists (Christian Scott, Gogo Penguin, Tigran Hamasyan, Mathias Eick), and postrock (Sigur Rós and Explosions in the Sky). More important than all these names, though, is the fact that this multitude of influences, mixed with a strong improvisational component, makes for a strong, rollercoaster-like experience.
Due to the pandemic, NAUSYQA have had time to record an EP and start working on a multidisciplinary project, which will feature audio-reactive visuals, camera work and set design. This band is only just getting started!
